You may want to think about taking out the extra collision damage waiver insurance (CDW); this is often not given in an initial quote, but will save you a large excess charge in the event that anything happens to the car. Having a car to travel around the Umbrian countryside is a necessity, but if you want to visit Florence or Rome then you are best advised to catch a train and avoid traffic parking problems.
